DIELECTRIC TEST APPARAT

The SKAT-70M instrument is intended for:

■ generating sinusoidal 50 Hz AC voltage and DC voltage.

■ measuring AC and DC voltage and strength during testing and diagnostics of insulation of power cables, overvoltage suppressor, and solid dielectrics.

■ testing of specimens of various solid dielectrics, including composite ones, various electronic devices with high-voltage galvanic isolation, lightning protection systems and circuits, as well as other devices and their parts where electric strength testing is important.

VERSATILITY

Using the SKAT-70M appa­ra­tus, it is pos­si­ble to car­ry out a wide range of tests on both alter­nat­ing and direct cur­rent. The out­put volt­age is switched to DC or AC using a tog­gle switch on the front pan­el. The accu­ra­cy of mea­sur­ing and main­tain­ing the test volt­age at a giv­en lev­el ful­ly com­plies with the require­ments of GOST 2990 and GOST 1516.297 for mea­sur­ing instru­ments for test­ing the elec­tri­cal strength of insu­la­tion of cable lines and sol­id dielectrics.

CONVENIENCE OF OPERATION

The device has man­u­al and auto­mat­ic oper­at­ing modes. In man­u­al mode, the out­put volt­age can be con­trolled either by but­tons or by an encoder. When there is a break­down in the load, the device records the break­down volt­age on the indi­ca­tor. A pro­gram­ma­ble timer is pro­vid­ed. All nec­es­sary infor­ma­tion is dis­played on LED dig­i­tal indi­ca­tors, which remain ful­ly oper­a­tional at low temperatures.

Safety

The sep­a­rate lay­out of the appa­ra­tus allows test­ing to be car­ried out at a safe dis­tance from the test object. For added safe­ty, an auto­mat­ic ground­ing rod is provided.
There is pro­tec­tion against break­down in the load, over­load and over­heat­ing of the high-volt­age transformer.
At the end of the DC test, the device auto­mat­i­cal­ly removes the resid­ual capac­i­tive charge of the test object through the active resis­tance of the sec­ondary winding.
There is also a con­nec­tor for con­nect­ing an exter­nal inter­lock and an exter­nal warn­ing lamp.

PORTABILITY

The light weight, com­pact size and portable design of both mod­ules allow for quick deploy­ment and pre-con­nec­tion of the sys­tem in the field, and also facil­i­tate the operator’s work.

The sys­tem can be com­plet­ed with a con­ve­nient trol­ley for transportation.
