DIELECTRIC TEST APPARAT
The SKAT-70M instrument is intended for:
■ generating sinusoidal 50 Hz AC voltage and DC voltage.
■ measuring AC and DC voltage and strength during testing and diagnostics of insulation of power cables, overvoltage suppressor, and solid dielectrics.
■ testing of specimens of various solid dielectrics, including composite ones, various electronic devices with high-voltage galvanic isolation, lightning protection systems and circuits, as well as other devices and their parts where electric strength testing is important.
SKAT-70M Instrument Operating Conditions
■ ambient temperature: -20 °C to +40 °C
■ relative air humidity: up to 80% at a temperature of +25 °C.
Using the SKAT-70M apparatus, it is possible to carry out a wide range of tests on both alternating and direct current. The output voltage is switched to DC or AC using a toggle switch on the front panel. The accuracy of measuring and maintaining the test voltage at a given level fully complies with the requirements of GOST 2990 and GOST 1516.2−97 for measuring instruments for testing the electrical strength of insulation of cable lines and solid dielectrics.
The device has manual and automatic operating modes. In manual mode, the output voltage can be controlled either by buttons or by an encoder. When there is a breakdown in the load, the device records the breakdown voltage on the indicator. A programmable timer is provided. All necessary information is displayed on LED digital indicators, which remain fully operational at low temperatures.
The separate layout of the apparatus allows testing to be carried out at a safe distance from the test object. For added safety, an automatic grounding rod is provided.
There is protection against breakdown in the load, overload and overheating of the high-voltage transformer.
At the end of the DC test, the device automatically removes the residual capacitive charge of the test object through the active resistance of the secondary winding.
There is also a connector for connecting an external interlock and an external warning lamp.
The light weight, compact size and portable design of both modules allow for quick deployment and pre-connection of the system in the field, and also facilitate the operator’s work.
The system can be completed with a convenient trolley for transportation.
